The Finnish Physical Society (FPS) is a scientific non-profit organization that was founded in 1947. The purpose of the society is to work actively on to promote and support research and applications in physics and public knowledge and interest in physics. The activities in the society include publishing scientific literature, arranging conferences, and organizing scientific events. FPS has an important role in supporting the integrity of physicists in Finland and supporting young scientists and advancing research and related outreach. Society maintains contacts with international and domestic physical associations. FPS has currently about 750 members.
