Every year, the Finnish Physical Society presents four early-career presentation awards at Physics Days. Certificates and €200 prizes are given to the two best oral presentations and the two best poster presentations. The high quality and large number of contributions made the evaluators’ task challenging, and we thank them for their dedication and time.
The 2025 oral presentation awardees are:
Matthew Herbst, Aalto University
“Detecting Gravity at the Milligram Scale Using Optomechanics.”
Milla Myllymaa, Oulu University
“Electrodynamics of an isolated substorm: Currents and spectra of precipitating electrons.”
The 2025 poster presentation awardees are:
Jesper Byggmästar, University of Helsinki
“Understanding refractoryalloys with machine-learned interatomic potentials.”
Laura Huhta, University of Jyväskylä
“A high-energy physics themed escape room as an outreach activity.”
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
