Registration

Participants are kindly requested to fill in the on-line registration form. Please reserve your accommodation and ferry ticket through this form.

Registration fee is 190 euros for the members of the Finnish physical society*, 110 euros for Finnish undergraduate students, Estonian graduate students and the members of the Estonian physical society, and 270 euros for everyone else. The registration fee includes Thursday evening programme, conference dinner, lunch on Friday and coffee/tea during the scientific sessions. Breakfast is included in the hotel fee.

* In order to register as a member of the Finnish Physical Society the membership fee of the society must be paid for the year 2006. However, new members accepted in 2007 do not have to pay the membership fee for the year 2006. If you register as a FPS-member but your membership fee is unpaid, please pay the membership fee as soon as possible following these instructions. Otherwise the full participation fee of 250 euros will be charged.

Deadline for registration and reservations was January 31, 2007.

Accommodation

To accommodate Conference participants, sufficient number of rooms have been reserved at Sokos Hotel Viru among which every participant should find a suitable option. Sokos Hotel Viru is a modern hotel in the centre of Tallinn that has been renovated in 2003 and is one of the most convenient stay in the city centre of Tallinn.

Breakfast is included in the hotel fee.

The superior class rooms have internet access. The hotel also has WLAN available in the conference facilities.

Please use the Conference registration form to make your accommodation reservation and indicate your room preference from the list above. Conference Secretariat will confirm your reservation by e-mail and payment for the hotel must be made according to that confirmation.

Please note that a special price has been negotiated for your benefit. This special price is valid only if reservation is made to Conference Secretariat and paid full in advance by January 31, 2007.

Transportation

The organisers have made preliminary reservations onboard the ferries M/s Nordlandia (Eckerö Line) and M/s Vana Tallinn (Tallink) for transportation between Helsinki and Tallinn at special rates:

Above mentioned special prices are valid only in case the reservation is made through the Conference Sercretariat and paid in advance by 31 January, 2007.

Please make your ticket reservation on the registration form. Please note that information of your birth date is also needed for ticket reservation.

Participants should collect their Helsinki-Tallinn ticket on the day of departure from Länsisatama check-in. Return tickets will be issued before departure from Tallinn: Eckerö Line (M/S Nordlandia) tickets from Terminal A and Tallink (M/S Vana Tallinn) tickets from Terminal D. To receive your tickets, please give your name and password "Fysiikan päivät" at the check-in counter.

Terms of payment

All fees must be paid in advance to the Conference Secretariat by bank transfer or by credit card. Please mark the preferred form of payment on your registration form.

Upon receiving the registration form the Conference Secretariat will confirm your registration and bookings via e-mail. Payments must be submitted according to this confirmation letter. Participant's name and number of the confirmation must be marked on the payment order.

Please be sure that all the bank-processing costs are borne by the remitter and the full amount is received; the organisers will not accept such processing costs. The payment can be made to a Finnish bank account and hence no extra fees will be incurred for payments from Finland.

In order to guarantee your registration, all fees should be paid in advance by January 31, 2007 at the latest. After this date all registrations being not guaranteed with a respective payment will be cancelled.

Cancellations and changes

All changes and cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Conference Secretariat: conference@frens.ee. Conference Secretariat will confirm the cancellation in writing.

Terms of cancellation

Registration fee

In case of cancellation, the registration fees will be refunded until 28 February, 2007. Please note that the cancellation fee 25 € will be deducted from the full amount. There will be no refund for cancellations made after 28 February, 2007.

Accommodation

Accommodation reservations can be cancelled or changed without penalties until February 28, 2007. In case of cancellations or changes after that date or no-shows there may be penalty fees by the hotels that must be borne by the participant.

In case of cancellation

• until 29 days before the travelling date, 100% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 28 to 14 days before the travelling date, 90% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 13 to 2 days before the travelling date, 50% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 48 hours before the travelling date, there will be no refund

M/s Nordlandia

In case of cancellation

• until 28 days before the travelling date, 100% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 27 to 22 days before the travelling date, 75% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 21 to 8 days before the travelling date, 50% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 7 to 2 days before the travelling date, 25% of the ticket cost will be refunded
• 48 hours before the travelling date, there will be no refund

In all cases the payment handling costs will be deducted from the amount of refund. All refunds will be processed after the Conference.
